Setting the international keyboard on the iPhone or iPad

If you use an international keyboard on your iPhone or iPad as well as the German one, you can save yourself a lot of time and nerves. If you use your iPhone in German, you use a keyboard by default on which the key assignment differs from the computer keyboard.

Add international keyboard on iPhone

To save time, or out of habit, it can be extremely convenient to use two different keyboards of different languages.

• Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.
• Select the menu item “General” there.
• Scroll down and click on “Keyboard”.
• At the top you will again find the item “Keyboards”.
•  You can now click on “Add new keyboard” and select another keyboard, such as the English keyboard.
• Once you have done this, a small globe will appear in the bottom left-hand corner of your keyboard. If you click on this globe, you can now switch back and forth between the German and English keyboards.
