  • Since July 2021, the European asset manager Attestor has been the majority owner, holding a total of 51 percent of Condor’s shares.
  • The investor is injecting 200 million euros in capital into the company to modernize the fleet and prepare for the future.
  • The remaining 49 percent continues to be held by a company acting on behalf of the federal and state governments.
  • In the future, the investor will have the option to acquire additional shares and take over the airline entirely.

    • Condor was founded in December 1955 as “Deutsche Flugdienst GmbH.”
    • Over the years the airline grew with Lufthansa as its largest shareholder.
    • In 1997, Condor was acquired by the British Thomas Cook AG and integrated into the company as part of the international travel brand.
    • When the parent company Thomas Cook was forced to file for bankruptcy in 2019, Condor’s future was uncertain. The search for a new investor was successfully concluded in 2021 with Attestor.
