Returning a parcel with FedEx is simple, quick and hassle-free if you follow the steps below. You can arrange for your parcel to be collected or take it to a service point yourself.
Preparing a FedEx return
If you wish to return your parcel or package to the sender via FedEx, you should prepare the consignment correctly. This ensures it arrives undamaged at its destination.
- It is best to pack the goods in the original packaging in which you received them. Otherwise, choose another suitable packaging that complies with FedEx’s guidelines.
- Remove all old barcodes and other stickers from the used packaging.
- Seal the parcel so that it cannot open during transit.
- Stick the return label onto the parcel. The barcode must be clearly visible and must not be smudged or creased. You will either find this label in the original consignment or you will need to print it out yourself. It will then contain the return details pre-filled by the sender.
- You may also need to fill in the label yourself (online) and then print it out. If you do not know where to find or obtain the return label, always contact the sender.
How to hand over your FedEx parcel
There are several ways to hand over your FedEx parcel.
- You can take the parcel to a FedEx outlet. You can find your nearest outlet using the location finder.
- If you already have a customer number, log in to the system using it and arrange a collection.
- To book a collection, you can also call customer services. You will need a customer number for this as well. You should mention during the call that this is a return.
- If you regularly send parcels with FedEx, simply hand over your parcels to the nearest FedEx courier when they deliver new parcels to you.
