A simple sugar cane farm in Minecraft can provide you with a stable yield of rockets and books. You don’t even need many materials for this

Minecraft: Build a sugar cane farm

For a simple sugar cane farm in Minecraft, you need water, a cob and an observer in addition to the sugar cane itself. First of all, it is important to plant the sugar cane in a hole with water so that it can grow properly.

  • Now place a block behind the plants on which you place the cob. This will later harvest the sugar cane. To do this, however, it must recognize that the plant has grown
  • A sugar cane in Minecraft grows about three blocks high. Place the observer directly on the cob. When the plant reaches its maximum size, a signal is generated. And the cob is triggered
  • To prevent the sugar cane from being lost immediately, enclose the farm with glass. You can extend this as required and equip it with hoppers and trolleys for automatic harvesting.

How to automate the farm

Even if you have set up the farm, the sugar cane only falls to the ground and disappears after five minutes. And without a properly placed funnel, the sugar cane will not find its way into the next crate.

  • To transport the sugar cane now, make use of the water you placed earlier. As long as you have only placed a fixed block of water at the start of the farm, the water will flow. And thus transports the sugar cane
  • If you place the hoppers directly under the farm, you can also transport the sugar cane directly into the boxes. For a larger farm, however, you should use a lorry with a hopper or a watercourse.
  • The cart is set up on a rail network under the farm, for example, and automatically collects all items that fall to the bottom of the farm. At the end of the track, the trolley stores all the items in crates
