Many gamers wish they could install Discord on the PS4. However, there is no official Discord app for the Playstation Store. Nevertheless, you can use Discord on the PS4 via a diversion.

Theoretically, you can use Discord on the PS4, but this is associated with not inconsiderable restrictions.
- In order to access Discord via the PS4, you will need to access the Discord homepage via the built-in web browser and log in.
- You can interact with the interface and read messages, but you can only reply to a limited extent.
- Neither voice chat nor video chat is possible via the PS4’s web browser. This limitation makes Discord unusable for most on the PS4.
- Writing messages is also complicated. Typing takes longer with the controller anyway. On top of that, you can’t send a text message at all. There is only the option of sending a GIF, for example, and then editing this message. This way you can add text afterwards.
- For those who simply want to read along on a few Discord servers via the PS4, this is possible without any problems. If you want to talk to your friends via Discord, you should use one of the Discord apps.
