Amazon: Collect Payback points – this is how it works

by Mike

With Amazon, it is possible to collect Payback points in various ways. To receive cashback, you have to start your purchase via the Payback app.

How to collect payback points at Amazon

For a long time, Amazon was not a partner of the Payback programme, but it is now possible again for you to receive cashback for your online purchases. And this is how it works:

  • Open the Payback app and tap the basket icon at the bottom of the menu labelled “Online shops”.
  • Scroll down to the Amazon.co.uk entry and tap it.
  • See if there are any multi-coupons under “Coupons” so you can earn extra Payback points and activate them if necessary.
  • Tap “Go to Amazon App” and then start shopping at the online shop as usual.
  • Make sure that your shopping cart is empty at the beginning, as there is no guarantee that the Payback points can be paid out on products that have already been saved.
  • Complete your purchase. You will receive 1 Payback point for every 2 euros spent, which will be credited to your Payback account approximately two weeks after the goods have been dispatched.
  • Good to know: Payback is not compatible with Amazon Smile – you have to choose one over the other. Also, digital services like e-books, Prime Music and saver subscriptions are excluded from Payback points.

Collect Payback points on Amazon by credit card

There is another way you can earn payback points on the shipping giant Amazon.

  • If you have a Payback credit card from the parent company American Express (AMEX), this can be used as a means of payment at Amazon.
  • With the Payback credit card you then collect 1 Payback point for every 2 euros spent. Converted, that’s a saving of 0.5 per cent per purchase.
