Free Skype download: How to do it on Android and iOS
You can download and use the Skype messenger on your smartphone for free.
- The app is available for both Android and iOS in the respective app store.
- After you have opened the app, you have to sign in with your Microsoft account to use the service.
- If you already have an account, log in with your access data. Otherwise, you can create a new Microsoft account by clicking the “No account? Create one!” button.
- You can then start a new conversation using the “Chats” tab. Use the “Calls” tab to start an audio or video call.
Alternative: Skype via browser
If you don’t want to install the app, you can also use Skype in your browser.
- To do this, open skype.com in your browser.
- Tap the “Open Skype in browser” button and log in with the access data for your Microsoft account.
- The web interface is structured the same as the app and allows you to chat and make video and audio calls.
