Philips remote control no longer responds
If your Philips TV stops responding to your Philips remote control, it’s often due to simple things that you can also quickly fix. Most tips work with all original remote controls. Before troubleshooting, try the first tip to avoid subsequent problems.
- Update your TV. Also make sure the batteries are sufficiently full and properly installed.
- Test if your TV works on the buttons on the set. If not, the defect is probably in the unit.
- Replace the batteries and check that they are properly seated.
- Using a digital camera, you can record the infrared light of the remote control. If nothing happens here, the remote control may be defective. Unfortunately, this trick does not work with all smartphones. iPhones, for example, have a filter.
- Does the LED on the remote control or the TV light up when you press a button? In this case, a signal is coming in, but the connection is not right. - If you have a Philips Android TV, you can install the app on a smart device and test if the TV can be controlled through it.
