Cleaning Your Oven with Lemon: What You’ll Need
To clean your oven using a lemon, you’ll need the following few items:
- a heat-resistant glass bowl
- a microfiber cloth
- a juicer
- a lemon or lemon extract
Instructions: How to Clean Your Oven with a Lemon
Once you have all the supplies ready, you can start cleaning the oven.
- Squeeze a lemon using a lemon squeezer . If you don’t have a lemon squeezer on hand, you can also use lemon essence or citric acid.
- For safety reasons, you should pour the lemon juice or essence into a heat-resistant glass dish, as citric acid can be too harsh for some baking sheets.
- Preheat the oven to 100 to 120 °C with the glass dish inside. If your oven has this feature, turn on the convection setting after a few minutes of preheating. This helps the steam reach all corners more effectively.
- Let the oven run until all the liquid has evaporated.
- Afterward, let the oven cool down slightly with the door closed. Once the oven is cool enough to handle, start wiping down the interior with clean water and a microfiber cloth.
- By now, all the burnt-on residue should have come off completely.
