iPadOS 15 will bring some interesting new features for Apple iPads before the end of 2021. These can especially help you to find your way around faster and to get in touch with your friends and acquaintances better.

iPadOS 15: The new features

Apple has announced the release of the iPadOS 15 operating system for autumn 2021. With the new release, iPad users will have several new features and options at their disposal.

-Such as there will be a new multitasking menu. This will allow you to use several apps at the same time and choose between different views (for example, full screen mode or split over).

-The Media Library automatically organises your apps into groups. For example, you can find all your games in one folder.

With iPadOS 15 there will also be new widgets. For example, for contacts or the App Store.

-You can create quick notes in any app. You can open them via a shortcut or by swiping upwards in a corner. This way you don’t have to launch another app to do it. If you tag a note with a hashtag and a keyword, you can find it again later in the tag browser.

SharePlay lets you stream movies with friends on other devices, for example, and talk on FaceTime at the same time. You can also share your screen this way.

-You can choose between different microphone settings in FaceTime. Voice Isolation isolates background noise, while Wide Spectrum allows it.

-You can send your friends an invitation link to FaceTime calls. You can do this even if they have a Windows or Android device.

-When friends share links or pictures with you, you can see them directly in the respective app under “Shared with you”. There you can also reply directly to the message. You can do this in Safari, Photos, Apple Podcasts, Apple Music and the Apple TV app.

-When you receive multiple photos in Messages, they’ll display as a collage or stack.

With iPadOS 15, you can also select a focus or create one yourself. Then only the notifications you want will be displayed. When you use a focus, it will be shown to your contacts in messages so they know you don’t want to be disturbed.

-The messages have been redesigned and have a new look and larger icons and photos of the contacts. You’ll also see messages in a collection based on your schedule and ordered by priority.

In Safari, the table bar has been redesigned to take up less space. It also changes colour to match the website you have open.

-You can organise tabs into tab groups for a better overview.

-In addition, you can install extensions for Safari and determine when they are active.

Maps will show you public transport stops and departure times.

With the live text, you can recognise and call information such as telephone numbers directly from photos. All you have to do is tap on the highlighted text.

Swift Playgrounds lets you learn programming and develop your own apps. You can then also submit the apps to the App Store.

You can work with a single mouse and keyboard on a Mac and iPad at the same time.
