Instructions: Changing the ear pads of JBL headphones

If the ear pads on your JBL headphones are damaged or badly worn, you can easily change them. This saves you from having to buy new headphones. However, you must make sure that the replacement ear pads are compatible with your model. Here’s how to do it:

  • Take a small screwdriver and carefully slide it under the ear pad.
  • Slowly push the ear pad upwards until it comes loose. You can also use a knife or other flat object if you don’t have a screwdriver at home.
  • Use your fingers to pull out the remnants of tape that may still be around the speaker.
  • Now the replacement pads come into place. Be sure to match up the sides correctly. R stands for the right ear pad and L for the left.
  • Remove the foil from the self-adhesive edge of the replacement pads and place the pads on the housing so that the four indentations fit onto the raised areas provided.
  • Press the ear pads firmly all around.
