To connect an external monitor to your laptop, you should take the following steps to heart.
- First connect the external monitor to your laptop using the VGA or HDMI cable.
- Then click on “Screen resolution”. The window should now resemble the screenshot.
- Within this window, select the item “Detect” so that the second screen appears in your overview.
- After that, click on “Identify” to determine which screen is the external monitor and which is your laptop monitor.
- Decide which screen will be your main screen and select the appropriate one. Then place a tick in front of “Use this screen as your main screen”.
