Spotify does not support the Huawei Watch GT 3. There are ways you can use the streaming service on- and offline via the smartwatch.
Using Spotify on Huawei Watch GT 3
The Huawei Watch GT 3 is not compatible with Spotify (as of July 2023). You can still stream Spotify via the paired smartphone:
- Switch on the smartphone and the Huawei Watch GT 3. Don’t forget to establish the Bluetooth connection to enable streaming.
- Now open to the Huawei Health app on the smartphone and switch to the devices. Within the device list, search for the Smartwatch and select it.
- Within the configuration options of the GT 3, find the Music item. Then navigate to the option Control music on the phone and activate it.
- Open the Music app on your Huawei Watch GT 3 and go to Settings. There you will see which device you want to stream music from. In this case, select Phone.
- Now you can open Spotify on your smartphone, select a playlist and play it. When you launch the Music Player on your Huawei Watch GT 3, Spotify music will be streamed through it.
Using Spotify offline with the Huawei Watch GT 3
You can also use Spotify offline. However, you will need to use a diversion to do so.
- In order to use music from Spotify offline on the GT 3, you must download the desired songs as MP3s and then transfer them. Although Spotify offers music download via Premium, this is not possible with the Huawei Watch.
- The MP3 download of Spotify songs is possible either via converter or a recording tool. We have prepared a suitable practical tip for you to guide you through the process.
- Once you have downloaded the MP3 files, all you have to do is transfer them to your Huawei Watch GT 3. To do this, the MP3s must be on the smartphone that is paired with the Smartwatch.
- Open the Health App and navigate to the devices. There, select the smartwatch and then the music option.
- Within this menu, activate Manage music tracks. Now you can add new tracks. You will be shown a list of available files on the smartphone that you can add with one click.
- Now the songs from Spotify are available offline on your Huawei Watch GT 3 via the built-in music player.
