Medion Robot Vacuum Reset: How to Reset It

by Mike

You can reset the Medion robot vacuum to its factory settings. This will resolve most problems and errors.

Medion Robot Vacuum: Reset Instructions

  1. Please note that resetting the robot will delete all stored information. You will therefore need to reconnect the Medion robot vacuum to the app on your smartphone after the reset. Additionally, the robot vacuum must perform a new mapping run in your home to create a map of the rooms to be cleaned.
  2. Before performing the reset, make sure the robot is positioned correctly in front of the charging station. The robot’s charging contacts must be facing directly toward the charging station—not just near it. This ensures that the robot can correctly determine its reference position when it restarts.
  3. To reset the Medion robot vacuum, you must first press and hold the [START/PAUSE] button on the robot vacuum for about ten seconds.
  4. Keep the button pressed until the indicator lights on the Medion robot vacuum light up for about two seconds.
  5. The robot vacuum will then restart, and the indicator lights on the robot will light up again.
  6. If the robot is unable to connect to Wi-Fi or cannot be paired, press the Reset button and the Home button simultaneously for about ten seconds. This will also clear the Wi-Fi settings.
  7. Sometimes the reset has no effect—for example, if the robot is still not recognized or cannot establish a connection. In this case, you’ll need to clear the app cache. To do this, go to your smartphone’s Settings > Apps > Medion Life+ > Clear Cache.
  8. If this doesn’t help either, you should reinstall the app. First, completely uninstall the Medion Life+ app, then reinstall it from the App Store. Now you can try pairing and resetting the robot again.

After the reset: Getting the Medion robot vacuum ready to go

Now follow the app’s instructions and let it perform a reconnaissance run.

    • Place the robot vacuum about 30 to 50 centimeters in front of the charging station and press the “Home” button to guide the robot back to the station. Then follow the instructions in the app to add the robot. Afterward, you’ll have the option to adjust various settings, such as creating virtual no-go zones.
    • Afterward, you can send the Medion robot vacuum on a mapping run via the app. Clear the floor of any obstacles and open all doors through which the robot should pass during its mapping run. Close all doors to rooms that the robot vacuum should not clean.
    • If you want to sell the robot vacuum or send it in for repair, simply resetting it is not enough. To do this, log in to the Medion Life+ app and remove the robot from your user account and the cloud. Only then is the robot truly reset and ready to be set up by a new user.
