WhatsApp Web: Use Messenger without a cell phone
With WhatsApp Web, you can use WhatsApp not only on your smartphone, but also on your computer.
- You can use WhatsApp Web to use the messenger on your PC in the browser. Alternatively, you can also download and install WhatsApp as software using WhatsApp for Windows or WhatsApp for macOS.
- You only need your cell phone for the one-time setup. After that, you will remain permanently logged in on up to 4 connected devices unless you disconnect the connection on your smartphone. The connection will also be disconnected if you do not use WhatsApp on your cell phone for longer than 14 days
- Currently, the functions on the connected devices are still limited. The connected devices cannot fix chats, send live locations or accept invitations to groups. You may also not be able to send messages to contacts who are using a very old cell phone with a very old version of WhatsApp

BlueStacks: Use WhatsApp without a cell phone
If you want to do without your smartphone completely, this is also possible. However, you will still need a phone number for this, which can also come from a landline.
- First, download the free BlueStacks App Player for Windows or Mac OS and install the software.
- Click on the search in the top left corner and enter “WhatsApp”. Select the appropriate search result
- Now you need to log in with your Google account. If you don’t have one, you can simply create a Google account.
- Download WhatsApp and wait until the installation is complete. Now you can start the application.
- To register, you need a cell phone or landline number that is not yet used for WhatsApp. You will then receive an SMS.
- If you are unable to receive the text message, you can then request a call. The code will be read out to you by a computer voice
- You can then use WhatsApp as usual on your PC. Your contacts should save the number you use.
