If you want to turn off the voicemail on your Huawei smartphone, there are several ways to do so. In this guide for all Huawei models, we’ll show you how to do it and what you need to keep in mind.
Turning Off Voicemail on Huawei
On Huawei devices, you can turn off voicemail directly in the phone settings:
- To do this, open the Phone app, tap the three dots in the top-right corner, and select “Settings”.
- Tap “Calls” and “More settings”.
- To disable voicemail, select “Call forwarding”. Here you’ll find various options:
- Always forward: Here, all incoming calls are automatically forwarded to voicemail.
- Forward if busy: If you receive a call while you’re on the phone, it will be forwarded to voicemail.
- Forward if no answer: If you do not answer a call, it will be forwarded to voicemail.
- Forward if unreachable: If your smartphone is in airplane mode or turned off, the caller will be directed to voicemail.
- If you want to turn off voicemail, you should disable all four options.
Turning the voicemail on and off on Huawei devices: using control codes
Another way to disable voicemail on Huawei devices is to use special control codes in the Phone app. These codes vary depending on the carrier:
- Telekom: To disable voicemail, enter ##002#. You can undo this by entering **62*3311#.
- You can also call the voicemail box directly by dialing 3311. In the main menu, you can use the code 73 to turn off voicemail directly. Enter 71 to turn it back on.
- Vodafone: To turn off voicemail with Vodafone, enter ##002#. You can turn it back on with *002#.
- Alternatively, you can also call the voicemail directly at 5500 and deactivate it using the speed dial code 272. Enter 271 to reverse this action.
- Telefónica: With O2, the code to turn off voicemail is also ##002# . You can turn on voicemail by dialing **004*333#.
- To call the voicemail directly with Telefónica, dial 333. Here, you can turn off voicemail by dialing 9611 and turn it back on by dialing 961.
