Echo Show: How to switch off the display

You can switch off the display of your Echo Show, for example if it bothers you at night or if you simply want to save some power

Switch off the Echo Show display: Here’s how

The display of the Amazon Echo Show is always active. You can check off your shopping list, select music and much more. At night, however, you may find the switched-on display annoying. It constantly flickers with changing displays and you can’t sleep. How to switch off the display:

• The easiest way to do this is via voice command. Say “Alexa, switch off the display” and it will go dark. You don’t even have to leave your warm bed

• The second option is to switch off the Echo Show automatically. You can set this conveniently in the app.

• Open the app on your cell phone and tap on “Routines”. At the top right you will find a white button with a plus sign. If you tap this, you can create a new routine

• You can give your newly created routine a name now or later. Then tap on “When the following happens” and on “Schedule”. Select “At” to set a time and the days of the week

• Select the “To” button again so that you can set the actual times here. Confirm your selection with “Next” and tap on “Add action”. In the window that now opens, tap on “Custom”

• Now enter the voice command (without “Alexa” or “Computer”) “Switch off display” and then tap “Next”. Select the corresponding Echo Show for which this action is to be activated
