by Flo

If your Fritzbox is having problems, the easiest way to solve the problem is to reset it. Unfortunately, there is no reset button on the Fritzbox router. However, you have the option of resetting it via the browser or by telephone.

Reset the Fritzbox via the browser

Caution: You reset your Fritzbox to the factory settings. All data stored on it will be lost.

  1. Open the user interface fritz.box and log in with your password.
  2. Select “System” from the menu on the left.
  3. Under this you will find the option “Backup”.
  4. Click on the “Factory settings” tab at the top and click on the “Load factory settings” button.
  5. Confirm the subsequent security prompt, the Fritzbox will restart and will not be accessible for at least one minute. You can then call up the user interface again via the browser.

Reset Fritzbox via telephone

Set your telephone connected to the Fritzbox so that it supports tone dialling. You will know if this is the case when you press a key during a telephone call and a tone sounds at the other end of the line. This is already the case with most telephones.

As soon as you hear the dial tone, type the following numbers and characters into the phone, one after the other: 991*15901590*.
The following also applies here: If you reset the Fritzbox to the delivery status, all stored data will be lost.
If you hang up, the Fritzbox will be restarted. It will be ready for use again after about one minute.
