Fossil Gen 6: Install WhatsApp
To use WhatsApp on your Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch, you first need to install the app on the device.
- First check if WhatsApp is using the latest version on your device. This will ensure that your smartphone and the Fossil Gen 6 can connect via WhatsApp.
- Then you are done, go to the WhatsApp Google Play Store page and click on the Install on more devices button. Use the drop-down list to find the Fossil Smartwatch and confirm your selection.
- Open WhatsApp on your smartwatch and log in. You will now receive a notification on your smartphone with a confirmation code. Then open the corresponding link and enter the code.
- Your WhatsApp setup on your Fossil Gen 6 is now complete. Your contacts and chats will automatically sync with the smartwatch.
Fossil Gen 6: Using WhatsApp
The messenger can be used on your Fossil smartwatch just as extensively as on a smartphone or in the desktop variant.
- You can view your chats as usual. You will receive messages and these will be displayed on your smartwatch via push notifications as desired.
- You don’t have to type messages, you can use the voice function for this. It is also possible to mute or block chats.
- If necessary, you can open WhatsApp via the Fossil Gen 6 on your smartphone. This is necessary, for example, if you want to use the call function, as this is not available on the smartwatch. Voice and video calls are not supported.
- You can place WhatsApp via a tile like this to get quick access to the app.
- It is not possible to create or delete new chats and groups. The call history is also not available, you have to check it via the smartphone app.
