Netflix download does not work: What you can do

If your Netflix download doesn’t work as it should, it can be very annoying, especially if you’re facing a long trip without internet. We have some suggested solutions for you here.

Netflix: Fix download problems

First check if your device is compatible with Netflix’s app.

• You need at least Android 4.4.2 or iOS 8.0 to be able to download series and movies. If your device does not have these requirements, the download will not work either.
• On the PC, the download will only work if you are using Windows 8 or 10 and have installed the app via the Windows Store. It is not possible to download content from the Internet browser.
• Make sure that you have installed the latest version of the app. If not, first do an update. This often solves the problem.
• You can save a maximum of 100 downloaded contents. If error code 10016-22002 appears on your device, you have reached the maximum number of downloads. To be able to save more tracks, you must first delete older files.
• If you receive the error message “You have downloads on too many devices”, you have exceeded the maximum number of devices on which you are allowed to store titles at the same time. Depending on which subscription model you have chosen, you can use content on 1, 2 or 4 devices. To download the titles to a new smartphone or tablet, you must either delete all the titles from an existing device or choose the next level in the subscription.
• The content you want may not currently be available for download. You can find a complete overview of possible downloadable content under the menu item “Available for download” in the Netflix app. If the title you want can be downloaded, you will see an arrow symbol next to the play button.
• If you receive further error codes and the download still does not work, you should delete the app and reinstall it. This is the fastest way to fix problems. You will not lose any lists you have created, as this information is stored online with Netflix. As soon as you log in with the app, this data will be available to you again.
