Threema is not working – malfunction?

• The best case is that the problem is not with your smartphone, but with the servers that Threema uses.
• You can check this, for example, on the page “allestörungen.de”. If there is a malfunction, the messages that the app is not working accumulate here.
• In most cases, such an error is quickly rectified. Within a few hours or even minutes, Threema should be up and running again.

Threema not working – workaround

If there is no fault, there is probably a problem with your smartphone.

• First test whether other apps that need Internet access are working properly. Also switch the WLAN off and on again briefly and test Threema again.

• If this does not help, switch off your smartphone completely and restart it. Minor system errors are usually fixed this way.

• Check whether an update is available for the app. On iOS, open the AppStore. In the bar at the bottom, a small number appears under “Updates” if updates are available. In another practical tip, we show you how to update Threema on Android.
• If none of the tips help, delete the app (Android/iOS) and then download it again.
