There are many apps that can help you train in the gym – from creating a plan and tracking to a balanced diet
Apps for the gym: these are available
Sometimes it might be your smartphone’s fault that you don’t go to the gym and spend the evening on the couch instead. But your cell phone and certain apps can also help you move and exercise. There are now a variety of fitness apps that can motivate you, help you evaluate your training and even optimize it.
- Fitness Point is an app that allows you to create your own training plan. You have numerous options and can choose from several hundred exercises. Another practical feature is that the units are organized by muscle group
- If required, you can have each exercise explained to you in advance. This means that nothing can go wrong during training. The trainer is often not directly available in the gym. The app therefore offers useful support
- There is a free trial version for Android, iOS and Apple Watch – but not all areas are activated. If you want all functions, the app costs six euros per month.
- The Jefit Workout Tracker app offers you more than 1000 exercises. So you won’t get bored during training. You can also use the app to create a new training plan every week
- You can have your training tracked. The disadvantage of this app is that it mostly communicates with the user in English, only occasionally is content explained in German. There is a free version and a paid version that offers even more functions – such as tips from experts.
Training plans, tracking and healthy eating
The Gymondo app has recognized that sport alone is often not enough. It combines exercise and a balanced diet.
- First you have to enter your sporting goals and status quo in the app. You will then receive a training plan and various suitable recipes. So you have something to look forward to after a strenuous sports program
- The app takes into account your personal preferences when it comes to meals: whether you are vegetarian or vegan. This app is recommended for people who want to combine sport and nutrition
- The Gainsfire app is completely free and is financed by donations. The app is very easy to use: Training plans can be created in a short time, and the training session can also be tracked.
- An additional motivating feature is that at the end of a session you are given an overview of what you have already achieved today from a sporting perspective: For example, after the dumbbell workout, “You lifted the weight of four elephants today.” A nice idea that motivates you to lift even more weight next time
- Individual plans for the sports program can also be created with the Freeletics Training Bodyweight & Motivation app. You can choose whether you want to train with fitness equipment or just with your own body weight.
- The special thing about the app is that, in addition to the sporting feature in the Pro version, there is also the option of completing a coaching session. This trainer is there to ensure that the mindset required for training is right
