To expand your pivot table, go to the table settings. Here you will find all the necessary settings to make your work easier

Extend pivot table: Instructions

Open your Excel file with the pivot table. Please note: If you want to add columns or rows, it is usually better to create a new table. As you have to edit the source data of the table in order to change the table, caution is required.

• Click anywhere in the pivot table. A tab appears at the top. Here, go to “Pivot table analysis”.

• Under “Data ☻ Change data source”. If the source data is in the same document, go to “Select table or range”. Select the range here

• If the source data is in a different file, go to “Use external data source ☻ Select connection” instead. Define a new connection here

• Go to “OK” to confirm the changes.
