Transfer your Netflix account via profile transfer: instructions
The profile transfer of a Netflix account is important for many users, for example, when the move of a family member is imminent and a separate account becomes necessary. The profile transfer ensures that the user’s new account already contains the essential streaming information such as the created watchlists. This works as follows:
- To start the profile transfer, first visit the Netflix homepage via a browser of your choice. Log in using the account on which your profile was created.
- Before you can perform the profile transfer, check in the Netflix settings of the account whether this option is activated. If you have previously deactivated it, activate the profile transfers.
- Navigate to your account page. There you will find the Profiles and Parental Controls option. Click on this option to get an overview of the available profiles.
- Search for the desired profile and select it. Now navigate to the Profile Transfer tab. You start the transfer by clicking on the Transfer option.
- Now you need to enter an email address and password for the new account. Then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the profile transfer. Afterwards, the new account will be available to you with the old profile.
- Important: A backup copy of the profile remains in the original account. Child profiles cannot be transferred. PIN-protected profiles must first be unlocked to allow transfer.
