The Muama Ryoko is an LTE router designed to provide you with Wi-Fi when you’re on the go. However, there are costs involved that are not easy to keep track of. We have done some research for you and will explain how much mobile internet costs and what the running costs are.
Muama Ryoko: Overview of device costs
The Muama Ryoko is an LTE router that promises data transfer speeds of up to 150 Mbs and 12 hours of battery life. Up to 10 devices can be connected to it at the same time.
- The regular price of the Muama Ryoko is €296. However, the company repeatedly advertises the device at significantly lower prices with attractive discounts and “last chance” bargains. In June 2024, for example, the router can be purchased for €89. However, according to our experience, this “discount” has been in place since at least 2021.
- If you decide to purchase several LTE routers at once, the price per device will be lower.
- In addition, the online store advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee and free shipping on every order.
- You can pay for the Muama Ryoko with your credit card, PayPal, or Klarna.
These are the running costs
If you have decided to buy the LTE router from Muama, you should be aware that there are ongoing costs.
The device comes with a 4G-enabled prepaid SIM card with 500 megabytes of data. According to Muama, you must activate this via your smartphone or tablet beforehand. Please also note that the Muama SIM card only works in Europe.
Is Muama reputable? Here are some possible alternatives
The question of whether Muama is a reputable company cannot be answered easily. The web shop focuses on a strategy of “act now while stocks last.” There is no Trusted Shops seal or other awards that indicate customer satisfaction. Only a few Facebook reviews with top ratings are displayed.
- On the Trust Pilot review platform, Muama’s online store has an average rating of 3.1 out of 5 stars, which leads to an “acceptable” rating (as of June 2024). You can also read comments from users there.
- The product, which is heavily advertised online, could not be found on other review portals. However, users share their experiences with the device under the manufacturer’s promotional video on YouTube.
- In general, when looking at the results of review portals, you should bear in mind that the presentation is usually based on anonymous user reviews, the authenticity of which we cannot verify. Experience shows that negative experiences are more likely to lead to online reviews than positive experiences. The same applies to comments in forums and on YouTube.
- The company states in its legal notice that it is based in Lithuania.
