Repairing an AquaStop – this is how it works

by Johannes

If an AquaStop is defective, you should not repair it yourself. It is a case for the specialist. We show you how you can check the component.

Repairing an AquaStop: First analyse, then contact the specialist

A first sign of a defect in the AquaStop area is when the dishwasher or washing machine no longer draws water.

  • Switch on the household appliance and you should hear a hissing sound. This sound is caused by the water coming in at that moment. If you do not hear anything, this may indicate a fault in the AquaStop.
  • However, there are also other causes that prevent the water from flowing. Therefore, the first thing you should check is whether the hose for the water supply is kinked.
  • Another source of error could be the angle valve. You can check this by screwing the valve shut, removing the AquaStop and placing a bucket under the angle valve. Now turn it on, a powerful jet of water should come out.
  • If this is the case, there is probably a defect in the AquaStop. Finally, you can test whether it hums and vibrates slightly when the household appliance is switched on. If you can feel and hear this, at least the solenoid valve in the component is probably OK.
  • The pneumatic valve has probably not reset. Under no circumstances should you try to solve this problem yourself. The component is live. The repair should therefore only be carried out by a specialist.
