DPD parcel does not arrive – what you can do

If your DPD does not arrive, you can take action yourself. In this practical tip you can find out what you can do to ensure that your parcel is delivered after all.

DPD parcel does not arrive – here’s how to proceed

Parcels can take longer to arrive than planned. But if the delivery time is exceeded by several days, you should find out the whereabouts. These options are available:

  • Shipment tracking: When you place an order you will receive a parcel label number which you can use to track your parcel online. To do this, call up the DPD website and enter the parcel label number on the start page. You will then receive information on the current location of your parcel. This tells you whether it is on its way to be delivered or whether it is perhaps still at the parcel centre.
  • Delivered: If you find an indication in the tracking system that the parcel has already been delivered, you should ask around you. It is possible that the parcel was accepted by a neighbour when you were not present. If the parcel was not delivered to any of your neighbours, check whether you have received a note from the parcel delivery company. There you will find all the details about your parcel.
  • Customer service: If you have not received a advice note and cannot find any details under the parcel label number, you should contact DPD customer service. The staff will check the parcel and find out where it is and when it will arrive.
  • Sender: If you were still unable to obtain any information about your parcel after telephoning DPD customer service, you should call the sender. It is possible that the parcel was not shipped after all – but a wrong address can also be the reason. Check the details together with the sender.
  • Note: DPD has about 6000 Pickup Parcel Shops. Your parcel may also have been delivered there after you were perhaps unable to accept it. On the DPD website you can find the nearest Parcel Shop by entering your postcode. If you were unsuccessful with the previous attempts, visit the parcel shop and ask the local staff.
