Lufthansa: Cancelling a flight online – this is how it works.

If you cannot take your booked flight with Lufthansa, you have the option of cancelling it online. We show you how it works

Cancellation of Lufthansa flight bookings

If your travel plans have changed, you can cancel your ticket via Lufthansa’s online refund function up to 24 hours before departure. Award tickets, however, are excluded from this.

• Log in on the Lufthansa homepage under “My bookings” with your Travel ID or booking code. The refundable booking will then appear.
• Click on the “Cancellation” button and confirm again. You will then receive an email confirming the cancelled ticket. The refunded amount will be transferred to you automatically.
• If you did not book your flight via the Lufthansa homepage or a Lufthansa office, you can still cancel the ticket online. Then contact the office where you booked your flight for a refund.
• Please note: Online cancellations are only possible within the booked conditions. Thus, group tickets can only be cancelled completely online.
• If your flight has been cancelled due to irregularities by Lufthansa itself, you can have it refunded free of charge in the way described above.
