  • Temperatures of around 20°C are required for optimum performance. If the temperature drops to 10°C or lower, the electrolyte becomes increasingly sluggish. This also increases the internal resistance of the battery
  • As a result, the ions can no longer move effectively and the energy is no longer transferred optimally. The colder it is, the faster your smartphone battery drains due to the reduced ion movement.
  • One problem caused by the cold can be a possible deep discharge of the battery. Modern smartphones have a fuse that automatically switches off the device beforehand.
  • Tip: If you are traveling in particularly cold areas, carry your smartphone close to your body or use a phone case. This means less heat is lost, which protects the battery.
